Plan Management: Benefits Communication

Effective communication of employee benefits programs is important on a number of levels. Hanratty & Associates consultants use a comprehensive approach when communicating with you and your employees. We work directly with you so you understand the specifics of your plan and we help disseminate accurate information to employees so they feel comfortable making good benefits choices.

When introducing plans to employees for the first time, Hanratty & Associates schedules employee meetings to present the benefits available in your new plan. Eligible employees receive complete benefit information packets containing all the necessary information needed to make their healthcare benefit and purchasing decisions. These packets include enrollment material, a summary of benefits, an example of an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statement, an example of a member card, information about prescription drug benefits, toll-free customer service numbers and informational websites, and other information customized for each client.

To assist in the enrollment process and to provide employee specific information, we and the insurance carriers with whom we work are accessible via toll-free telephone, e-mail and Internet. Hanratty & Associates offers my RSC.com, UBenefitSM, and Select105™ Personal Administrator .

Renewal time is especially important to employees and their dependents. It is a time for upgrading options or switching plans if available. We will schedule any necessary informational seminars and enrollment meetings prior to renewal time and provide updated benefits information to your employees.

Hanratty & Associates also provides periodic claims and trend reviews to address your specific issues. Twice per year and upon request, your consultant will meet with you and your insurance committee to discuss current benefits plans, trends, and history, and to recommend strategies to continue cost control and employee satisfaction.

In addition to benefits meetings and one-on-one consultation, Hanratty & Associates publishes a quarterly newsletter to keep you informed about recent law changes, trends, and carrier changes. In addition, we annually host a series of seminars on current topics and issues pertinent to our clients’ needs. These seminars often feature presentations by our benefits law attorney and our human resources consultant and are specifically tailored for our client population.
